Sauerkraut, cole slaw and slaw salad

Cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable. The Brassicaceae family include broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and many more veggies. There is controversy over whether or not they are good for people with thyroid problems, but it is pretty accepted that they can help prevent certain kinds of cancers-those that are caused by certain toxins we are all exposed to, but that some are more sensitive to than others.
I am one of those sensitive people according to a DNA test and was told to eat cabbage, but I also have thyroid problems.
I did read though that cooking these cabbage family veggies inactivates the goitrogens that interferes with thyroid hormone synthesis. So to eat or not to eat slaw?

Sauerkraut's probably safer..
because even if it isnt cooked, its fermented.
